Panel discussion: Student Protests and the Prospects for Democracy in Thailand

On Friday 25 September 2020, the Master of Arts Program in Human Rights (International Program) organized a panel discussion on “The 2020 Student Protests and the Prospects for Democracy in Thailand”.

The panel is joined by Eakpant Pindavanija and Bencharat Sae Chua, lecturers at the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, and Pau Supanuntaroek and Punnawit Tantirapan, the students at the Institute.

The panel reviews the factors contributing to growing movements and explores how the student protests in Thailand are changing political landscape of the country. It discussed the implications of the protests on democracy and human rights in Thailand.
