Between February 17-19, 2025, Dr. Bencharat Sae Chua and Dr. Mst. Umme Habiba Fahmina Karim, lecturer at the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP), Mahidol University; Associate Professor Dr. Lisa Spagnolo, Director of Research & Training at Macquarie Law School; Senior Lecturer Dr. Christoph Sperfeldt from Macquarie Law School and the Graduate Research Academy (GRA) at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, were invited by Professor Lise Barry, Dean of Macquarie Law School. They came together to discuss collaboration on the joint PhD cotutelle scholarships program between the two institutes.
Dr. Bencharat Sae Chua and Dr. Mst. Umme Habiba Fahmina Karim also presented the findings from their research under Seed Grant 2024, during an expert workshop on forced migration and the right to development. This workshop was led by Professor Surya Deva, an academic at Macquarie Law School and the Special Rapporteur on the Right to Development.
