Children Rights Expert Lecture, 15 November 2024, at IHRP Mahidol University.

As part of the education and training on child rights research, the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP), Mahidol University, Thailand in collaboration with Global Campus of Human Rights and Rights Livelihood, has organized Children Rights Expert Lecture Series and the first session of this series held on 15 November 2024 at room 119 at the Institute. Around 40 Students of Asia-Pacific Masters Program and lecturers attended the session.

The lecture was facilitated and moderated by Dr. Mark Kavenagh, Director, EVIDENT, Data-Driven NGO Programming, Dr. Mark Peter Capaldi and Dr. Fahmina Karim, from IHRP Mahidol University.

The goal of this event is to support and improve the knowledge and understanding on ethical issues and standards in academic research and advocacy on children’s rights within the Global Campus university network. This lecture presents some of the key findings of one of the online research projects on Child abuse on online platform. This session offers an opportunity to learn and share knowledge and critical feedback on research ethics from child rights researchers and scholars. The session intends to discuss the debates surrounding ethical issues in children rights research, the emerging concept of rights-based research, challenges and benefit of ethical guidelines and gaps in ethical & rights-based training for emerging researchers.
