On December 1, 2023, The Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP), Mahidol University in collaboration with Opening Universities for Refugees (OUR), the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, the Centre for Asia Pacific Refugee Studies (CAPRS), UNHCR, and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) organized the 7th 3C Forum: Inclusive Higher Education for Refugees in Thailand.
Dr. Vachararutai Boontinand, Director of the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, Mahidol University welcomed participants to the event. The introductory remarks were delivered by Dr. Gul Inanc, Founder of Opening Universities for Refugees (OUR), joined by Professor Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing, Director of the Mahidol Migration Center Joint Research Unit, Mr. Evan Jones, CAPRS South-East Asia based Project Manager, University of Auckland and virtual remarks by Manal Stulgaitis, UNHCR, at the Prachasangkom Udompathana Room (101), Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University. Agenda Highlights are parallel sessions focusing on establishing a culture of inclusion for Thai universities and discussions on increasing access to human rights education for refugees. This participatory forum aims to create an action plan by identifying major challenges faced by refugees to synthesize the way forward through the involvement of interested stakeholders.
