How to apply

Application Information

To apply for the MA Human Rights program you must submit all of the application documents (see below) to the Mahidol University Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS). The documents can be submitted online (through the link below), in person, or by mail. We have 2 rounds of applications each year. The first deadline is at the end of January, and the second at the end of April, and successful applicants will start studying in August. After each round of applications our admissions committee review all of the applicants. We make our decisions based on all of the required documents, so we cannot consider any applications which are incomplete. For some applicants we may request an interview before making our decision. For international applicants these interviews will be conducted via Skype.

As IHRP is part of Mahidol University, all of our applications go through the Faculty of Graduate Studies. For international applicants we have a simple online application process. You can start your application here.

Visas

International students from outside ASEAN need a Non-Immigrant Educational (non-Ed) visa. Once you have been accepted to study at IHRP, you will be sent a letter of acceptance and a letter to support your visa application. When you have these documents, you must then apply for the non-Ed visa from the Thai embassy or consulate where you are. It is important to note that you cannot make a first time application for a non-Ed visa from within Thailand. For most students you can do this application from any country other than Thailand, but for students from some countries it is advised to apply from your home country. You must make sure that the visa application is done as soon as you have received your documents from IHRP, as the process can take time.

When you have been accepted to study at IHRP we will send you more detailed information about the process. Most of our students have no problems in applying for visas.
