Testimonial for MAHR-Pauline Owelle

“Coming from a University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, I never conducted academic research nor wrote English texts. One of the reasons I couldn’t believe I actually got accepted into the degree. In my Bachelor of Social Work, I have always missed specific courses or more in-depth information in Human Rights. To broaden my knowledge I did several internships with a focus on child rights. Once I graduated I still felt the need to learn more. After several google searches, the MAHR program caught my eye, and I am very happy it did.

Since I was in the batch of 2019-2021, I started just before the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that I was lucky enough to meet all the professors in person and create some great friendships with my classmates. Next to, of course, the very interesting and quality classes we received on a wide range of Human Rights topic, I was very pleased with the communication and interaction between students and professors. I always felt welcome to ask questions and advice.

Hopefully, future and current students will soon get the opportunity to experience in-person classes and meet their classmates for a coffee on campus. I couldn’t have chosen a better degree for me, I will miss Mahidol and the MAHR institute, said Pauline Owelle (batch 2019).
