The Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies Promotes Community Engagement and Strengthens Relationships in the Southern Border Provinces

On July 21, 2025, at the Ton Kla Phan Group House, Tachi Subdistrict, Yaha District, Pattani Province, Asst. Prof. Dr. Padtheera Narkurairattana, Acting Deputy Director for Administration, together with Assoc. Prof. Gothom Arya, Advisor of the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, Mahidol University, and Ms. Charita Prasitthima, Officer at the Southern Border Peace Center, Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, Mahidol University, conducted a site visit to meet with members of the “Interfaith Loving Friends” network and the local residents of Tachi community, with the aim of promoting public participation and strengthening community relations.

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Padtheera Narkurairattana and Assoc. Prof. Gothom Arya were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the activity “Grandparents, Please Tell Us a Tale from Tachi” and the “2nd Southern Border Flower Festival.”

The event aimed to promote learning of local history through community culture and intergenerational participation. Key activities included a ceremonial tribute to local deities and the “Hundred-tiered Tiffin Carriers” activity, which fostered love, bonding, and unity within the community.
